Many readers of this bulletin may have heard a lot of concern being raised about “the new pandemic treaty” being proposed by the WHO. Fewer will have heard about a separate – but equally concerning – development: proposed changes to the “International Health Regulations” which, potentially, could “bite” very quickly.
The World Health Organisation have launched a “historic global accord” for pandemics also known as a “pandemic treaty” to be decided by an “intergovernmental negotiating body.” The WHO General Assembly is able to pass binding agreements on all member states with a two thirds majority using article 19 of the WHO constitution.
